30Aug'12-LY@MOE-Grange51

Our team (supported by CLYL-Doris, Lim and Fay) were invited to have a laughter session with 50+ teachers. The session was organized by Ms Lee - Associate Psychologist, Education Services Division. This was in line with their monthly meeting. Unfortunately, we couldn't capture the session via video.Nonetheless, it was an interesting session for many of the young teachers. Look forward to more such session ...very good very good yeah!!!

18Aug'12-Gardens by the Bay

Bought 4 discounted tickets(S$13 each)  from Thomson/Shunfu RC for a trip to the Gardens by the Bay. Couldn't get the whole LY members to go. So the 4 of us went : Eric, Mum, Maid and myself. Our tickets include the visit to the 2 attraction; Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. The 2 cooled conservatories are worth the visit.

Here is an extract from the article, History of Gardens by the Bay from their web site:

Gardens by the Bay brings to life NParks' vision of creating a City in a Garden. The Gardens captures the essence of Singapore as the premier tropical Garden City with the perfect environment in which to live and work - making Singapore a leading global city of the 21st century.

Flower Dome,  a cool-dry conservatory - Discover plants from the Mediterranean and semi-arid subtropical regions.  Mediterranean regions like South Africa, California and parts of Spain and Italy. Home to a collection of plants from deserts all over the world.

Cloud Forest, a cool-moist conservatory - Take in the views from the top of the mountain, surrounded by unique plants shrouded in mysterious mist. Comprising a 35-metre tall mountain complete with the tallest indoor waterfall covered in lush vegetation, the Cloud Forest portrays plant life from about 2,000-metres above sea level at the top of the mountain to around 1,000-metres at the bottom of the ravine. Descending is through 2 walkways.

Supertrees - uniquely designed vertical gardens of 25 to 50-metres tall have large canopies that provide shade in the day and come alive with a exhilarating display of light and sound at night.

The Gardens are just too many to visit. We will need to go back for the other smaller gardens and lakes  around the Bay.

Attached is a short movie of our 4 hours trip.

TPYE-S2-10Aug'12

This 2nd LY session (subsidized by CC) is specially for elderly residents.  Mdm Lim hopes that I can continued this monthly LY session with them. As the session held on a weekday, Fri at 2.30 pm, it is not easy to get many SMC members to be around to support the session. Fortunately, I had Laughter Partners; SiewYin, Fay, Ming and Mum. These 20 aunties are marvelous and adoring - just listen to their feedback.  very good very good yeah!!!
